communications tech

I took Communicatons Tech in my second semester of grade 10, now its summer, so I wanna reflect on it. It's probably the easiest class you can take, no exam, it wasn't strict, and you're sitting in front of a computer the enitre class playing around with Photoshop. And yet I almost failed.

The lowest grade I had at one point was 63% I think, which is still passing, but that's the lowest grade I've gotten in a while, and that teacher gives out 90s just for completing the work. I was slacking off, and had (at one point) 11 projects past deadline. So that's why my grade was low.

If you saw the things I made, you would not think I had a 63% average, even the teacher emailed my dad twice saying I had a 90% potential.

'I told him to get as much in for me as this will improve his grade as it’s currently in the mid- 60% range and he is capable of high 90s in this subject.'

Like I got 90% on my culminating and my class went to Killarney to take photos. Apparently my photos looked professional, or that's what the teacher said. (I wish I could call people by their names, but right now I don't want people finding out about this website)

Take a look at some ads I made for this website and some photos from Killarney:

A photo of a green house with a Canadian flag. A phot of three boats. A photo of a road with a dog making a cameo.

That was my first time trying out Lightroom, so I think the photos came out okay. My best photos from that trip were portraits of other students, but right now I don't want to get the website taken down, I'll eventually add photos of other people.

So, seeing those photos and graphics, you'd think I'd be in the 80's range when it comes to grades, but nope. At one point I was averaging 63%. I locked in the last 2 weeks of school and got 8 projects done (including the culminating) which brought up my grade to 75%. I haven't got my report card yet, but on google classroom (what every teacher's been using since 2020 thanks to coronavirus) it says that I have 75% so that's my guess on what my grade's gonna be.

Moral of the story, don't slack off.
